The Caritas Foundation helps provide books to the elementary children and teen residents of Caritas Communities. The Caritas Reads! summer reading program began in 2013 and has provided almost 3,413 books for over 1,200 readers.

Through funding from The Caritas Foundation, children and teen readers are able to search through a selection of age-appropriate books online to be delivered to them to read. Once completing the book, they complete a short report to test their knowledge and understanding of the book. Upon completion, they are invited to select their next book of choice. A small prize is given with each book report submitted. A special prize is awarded to those individuals who read 8 books or more.
